Domestic travel in Laos is by flights, car roads or boating on the rivers |

Inland transport
In Laos people travel by flights, car or bus and boat on the rivers. There is no railways. The section of Mekong river between
Houi Xai and Luang Prabang is the most travelled. Nam Tha and Saung Ou rivers are used by those little more hardy travellers.
Some highway sections especially those in the mountains are being developed and repaired. For the rainy season travel to the remote places contact the local travel operators or the ones who have just came back. Domestic flight information can be checked at www.laoairlines.com or www.laos-airlines.com.
